Hot Stone Massage

This session is a real treat for the senses and in a favorite of many of out clients. It is a session that can really put you into a deep relaxed state! In fact, many will not go back to a Swedish massage because the heat and energy from the stones used in this session can create such an extraordinary experience.

The heat from the stones penetrates deep into the muscle and surrounding tissue, which encourages the exchange of blood and lymph and provides soothing heat for deep tissue work. More oil is used on the skin with a stone massage than in a Swedish massage to maintain a smooth gliding motion of the strokes.

The heat from the stones opens pores in the skin to absorb the oil, which leaves the skin nourished and feeling silky smooth.

The Stones have a natural healing energy that comes from being part of the earth. In a Hot Stone session the stones are heated to about 120 degrees Farenheit, and then are placed on the body in specifics points pertaining to energy or trigger points. Some are also used to perform long gliding strokes over the body.

The stones that rest on the body are placed over a towel and sheet to let the body absorb the heat comfortably.

The session begins with you lying in a face down position with some hot stones place on your back from the sacrum (lower back) to your shoulders. Stones appropriately sized for the palms and the sole of the foot will be used to warm the hands and feet. Then heated stones are used to massage your entire legs, from hip to feet. Next we will move to your back where more heated stones will be used to provide you one of the most incredible back rubs you have ever experienced. The process will be repeated to the front of body, shoulders, arms and neck. The session will finish with a very relaxing face and head massage. Aromatherapy can also be added to this session for an even deeper healing experience.

This session lasts approximately 70 - 90 minutes and is one of the most relaxing sessions we offer. It has been described as awesome, an incredible experience and truly deep state of relaxation.
